Back Pain - All Over - Feel like no support and upper body / back collapsing

About 12 years ago I had a dirt-bike accident. I fell close to 20ft on my back. I couldn't move (not real paralysis. I think just due to the severe pain). Ambulance to hospital. (I am working on finding my old records for the exact location, but it is close) I had an L5 compression on the left side of my L5. I had to wear a full front and back "turtle shell" for 6 months. The specialist neurosurgeon never followed up (also my fault), no PT or even follow up appointments. Within the last 4 years, pain has come back and is very severe. It started in the L5 area, on the left side, like a pin straight in to it, but now is all my spine and all of my back muscles. My current doc is a D.O. (aware of injury, plus has ordered and seen recent MRI and X-Ray) and is adjusting me every visit due to back being out of whack, spine not in line and also mentions the "inflammation".

I am on very strong pain meds plus strong anti inflammatory drugs, and the pain meds we have tried different types, but I am currently on an amount that you would think kill all of the pain.

Question / One Issue (not about the pain, I will post one for that later, but about this feeling of no support):
Here is a way I describe the feeling I have and I am looking for a possible cause or if anyone even understands what I am saying... Like I said above, I wore a rigid, hard "turtle shell" brace after the injury. In addition to my pain, I feel week in my back (last 2-3 years). I feel like I have no posture (it takes me trying very hard and have to constantly be aware and force myself to stand straight or at-least stand / hold my back how I think it should be) and I feel like just leaning forward and falling over... My friends joke (because I do this all the time, all day if I am on my feet) about how much I am always bending forward and backwards and even stand up straight, then lean forward, reach for toes and make my back look like a hump (this is the way I feel I get relief but just a little). I feel like I need that front and back shell brace, I feel like I have no support at all for my upper body / back. And again, this is in addition to the pain issues.

Does this mean a muscle problem for this specific problem? Anyone have same feeling?
