New to site

Hi I just had my 6th surgery on my spine. This time section C3-4 / C4-5 / C5-6 fusion with hardware.
Prior L-3 through S-1 Fusion with hardware.
Multiple X4 Laminactomys and discectomys.
Up and Down with surgeries for the last 24 years and everything leading up to them.

Wondering if anyone on this site had similar, and how it's working out, with pain meds, and overaul quality of life.

I'm 4 days post op.

  • Good Lord...you poor thing, how old are you, with all of these back surgeries?? I am new to the site, also. I was 48 and they considered me young for the fusion. If have the hereditary arthritis that got me! I guess I'm doing very well, but I have the residual nerve pain in my sacral area that is my major problem. Everybody keeps telling me to give it time! I've been struggling with a lot of pain for the last year...it just gets to be a struggle. I live in WI, and the icy winters can get long. I like being outside! Even in the cold, I would take my dog for walks! Had to get an elliptical to get my walking in! Good choice, even though I tend to overdue it. I don't like sitting around, but yet I need to listen to my body. I have things to do in the house, but am not quite ready to tackle the big stuff. The everyday chores are fine, I have good range of motion. I just have to make sure and stretch for about a half an hour in the morning, get on my ellipitcal for a mile, and stretch at night. There are days where I exercise and then just rest for the day! Good luck to you! Keep me in the loop on how you are doing. It's nice to hear about others and compare stories! I've had 8 surgeries and this is by far the most intense so far!
