Hi i have cleaned houses for 30 yrs and it finally caught up to me.I have siadic pain down my leg and very bad lower back pain. I have had physical therapy,cyropractor,steroid shots nothing worked.I went to a good surgeon and he is going to do a double fusion and a vascular surgeon will be doing the surgery too.I dont know what he does yet .They are cutting the stomack and back.I am very nervous, I cant sleep.My surgery is March 13 and i need help knowing what to expect and what i need to prepair for.How long and how bad is the post surgery pain,do i need someone to help me when i get home?What pain meds work when you get home.I also have RA and get infusions every 4 weeks.I am 59 and want to be able to go back to work.I would appreciate any help with feedback.Thank you

  • Sounds like you're having an ALIF procedure. There is pain, you will need help for the first week or so and don't expect to go back to work for a while. You should do a search on this site for "ALIF". You will see a ton of information about the procedure and what to expect.
