My journey (Discectomy, Wallis Device, TDR, STALIF, PLIF)

In the hope of giving others hope I have made a short video of my spinal surgery story and posted it on Youtube

I am delighted to say that since my 3 surgeries in 2011 I am in a much better place now and although not entirely pain free I am no longer in constant pain and my mobility and quality of life has been drastically improved.
I have cut out 90% of the medication I was taking and now manage on 50mg diclofenic with 1000mg paracetemol twice per day and 40mg of Oxycontin at night. Previously I was taking 200mg Oxycontin twice per day 40mg of Oxynorm for break through 4 times per day plus a multitude of other pills including diazepam, amitriptilyne, setraline, gabapentine, diclofenic and paracetemol.

As well as the surgeries I have had more root nerve and facet joint injections than I care to count, epidurals, discographs, acupuncture, Reiki, etc.

I am more than happy to discuss and share my experiences further with anyone going through the living nightmare that is chronic back pain.

Wishing you all the very best, keep your chin up and don't loose faith in finding the treatment that is going to give you relief.

  • I'm sure lots of people will be comforted seeing an example of improvement. I hope you continue to do well!
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.
