Tummy Tuck after spinal fusion

Just wondering if anyone has had a tummy tuck after spinal fusion at any level and if so how long after?

  • I saw this post and had to respond. I have NOT had a tummy tuck, and I'm not sure what levels you had fused, but you can see my picture that I am for the most part... fused! My sis did her fellowship in cosmetic surgery and I TOTALLY am going to have some "work" done, but I haven't decided when. She does not believe my back will be an issue. (of course she has put some limits on boobs....lol) I know some people are totally against cosmetic surgery, but I am a happily married woman who wants to do this for me! Good luck!
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.

I think you need to consult with the good doctor.
  • Hi AllMetal,

I have spoken with a woman in a forum that had 5 lower back surgeries and did not have a problem with a TT, in fact there is some talk on the benifits of the muscles being tightened and acting as an internal corsette so to speak. Do some reading on it, there is debate on it helping lower back pain. Check Realself.com for lots of great info.! To the last post i have already gotton approval from my Orthopedic surgeon and had a consult with a great surgeon.
