Hello I am a newbie too- DDD 3 Level Artifical Disc Replacement Surgery March 19th

Hi I am scheduled to have disc replacement surgery on March 19th. My first surgery. I have been experiencing pain for well over a year now, neck, down arm, fingers, weakness in arm as well. My doctor will be using the Prodisc C, he was going to use the Secure C ADR but now has decided because of a conflict in "size" he will again be using prodisc. Needless to say I am scared to death of all of it... I am a Breast Cancer survivor, 6 years now and though very scary we got it at an early stage and all went well. I am concerned about the metals in the device, the length of time this procedure has been used, if I will feel worse afterwards and so on. I haven't found anyone else on this site in my situation or maybe I am not looking in the right area, although I think I have done some searching. If anyone has any helpful information that would be wonderful. Thanks for your time.

  • Wow! A breast cancer survivor and now this. I can't imagine the stress and anxiety you have had to deal with. Unfortunately I can't give you any tips/advice on cervical surgeries as that remains the only area of my spine "un touched". I also have no experience with artifical discs. Hopefully a member who does will respond soon. I would like to invite you to be a "March Surgery Buddy". Here is the link.
I am having "hardware revission" on March 20th. There are several people on this link that are having or have had cervical surgeries. I have found lots of support here, especially as the "count down" to surgery is on. Best of luck to you!
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.
