I had a C6 - C7 fusion with instrumentation in 1999. I now have a bone spur pressing on my spinal cord C5 - C6. I saw a surgeon who wants to remove and replace previous fusion when he operates on the bone spur. He said he "needs room to work". He said the previous fusion looks good. I can't help but think this would make for a more complicated surgery and longer recovery. Any one else experience this? I did not click with that Dr and I have an appointment with a different surgeon for a second opinion but can't see him for a month.
