April 2012 ACDF-Neck Pain

I had C-4/5 c5/6 fused with hardware on 4/23/2012 due to spinal stenosis which caused EXTREME nerve pain in my arm. Post-op, the pain disappeared. It was like a miracle! Now almost a year post-op, I am having issues with neck pain, sporadic numbness in both hands and reduced ROM. My friend who had three levels fused in Jan of 2012 is experiencing almost identical symptoms. I do admit that it's nowhere near as bad as the arm/nerve pain that sent me to surgery in the first place but I was hoping for a better outcome! Luckily this pain is not constant-it's usually sore in the morning. I have a tempur-pedic mattress and have tried numerous pillows: neck wedge, water pillow, tempur regular pillow (the worst), pillow with a hole in the middle and differing fluffiness of pillows. It seems the neck wedge and the hole in the middle pillow work best but not consistently. I will usually either wake up with numbness or pain. I usually try to do a yoga sequence every morning which seems to get things moving better. By the end of the day, the pain is usually rockin' and rollin' again so I'll do another yoga sequence. I have tried chiropractic, massage and acupuncture as well. After an adjustment (yes I do let them adjust my neck!) I get good ROM but only for a day or two. I'd like to hear others experiences who are one yearish post-op. I know another person who had a 3 level disk replacement a year ago and is not having any pain or ROM issues at all.
