Im glad I found this site...

Hello all...

I just recently had my second neck surgery. The first was on 3/31/2011 I had a anterior cervical fusion c5 c6 c7. My orthopedic surgeon is amazing I trust him with my life completely. My recovery was very long and mentally challenging. My depression was sometimes excessive. My kids really helped me work through my funk. I went on with life started with a new company as a store director. I really love my job and company. Its hard for me to be away and stuck at home again.
In Jan 2013 I found out through an xray that my c7 fusion had failed. My Dr and I discussed surgery down the road but it was not an immediate surgery...
Well at the end of Jan 2013 I fell in a very icy parking lot at work. I knew that I hurt myself but I wasnt sure how extensive. I went home and took some soma and went to bed. My nerves were buzzing like crazy the rest of the weekend. My arms and shoulders were on fire it was a very strange feeling. I took some Neorontin and went to work. Everyday my pain in my right arm and shoulder would get worse sometimes I felt as if I tore my rotator cuff the pain was that intense. 2 weeks after the fall I couldn't take the pain anymore so I went to see my Dr. He sent me for a CT and informed me that I would be having surgery within the next few weeks. I just had to get somethings in order. I had my 2nd surgery on March 11th 2013.
C6 corpectomy with fusion and other things. Im not to sure what he did exactly.I was told that they wouldnt even know what they needed to do untill they got in there, I was that damaged. My surgery took 7 hours the compression was so tight in my nerves I was told it was a challenge.
Im back to being off work, at home, my husband and daughter dont really help me and the depression is starting to come back. Does anyone have any advice for how long the depression will last. if anyone has advice on maybe some at home work I can do. Im not getting paid because workers comp is investigating me. Im sure other members have gone through similar things and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
