Scared and Nervous

I have always been against Chiropractors and especially now more than ever. I was experiencing some severe lower back pain that was moving up my right side, pretty sure this was caused from lifting heavy weight. With this being said I saw the chiropractor for the first time yesterday (I am 31 yrs olds). Within a half hour of leaving the office I had a really hard time turning my neck to each side with out being in pain. I don't want to say its a spasm because I have never experienced a spasm before. I woke up this morning and wasn't able to drive because the slight movment of my head was extremely painful. I am looking to see if this is common and really scared that some damage has been done to my neck due to the severe pain that I am in. Looking for any advice - please advise.

I have never been a big fan of chiropractors. That is for spinal and disc problems. They know how to work with
our muscles and connections, but beyond that, I just dont seem them.

They can use a lot of aggressive manipulations that in my mind could inflame a situation that was already there.

My take on this is to see your PCP, see what they can evaluate, and then go from there.

  • I think you should go to the ER so they can take xrays and do a ct scan. I dont want to scare you but if chiropractic care of the neck is not done correctly you can get blood clots, ruptured cervical discs or herniations. A proper adjustment would have you being able to turn your head easily. Not this! At the ER they can check for serious damage and give you muscle relaxers!
