Weak in arm, but pain seems better

I've got C7 herniated disc since Jan. Have had bad right arm pain the last 3 months. Have tried everything-- (PT, injections, etc.) Never have had weakness or finger pain just down the back of my right arm. Seen a couple of doctors, ortho and nero. My visit last week to a ortho noticed right arm weakness and recommends surgery. It seems like my pain has calmed down in the last two weeks. I really don't want to have surgery, so just wondering if anybody out there thinks my arm strength will come back without surgery or is more damage is being done if I don't have it.
Thanks, Jim

It wouldn't be right for anyone here to give you an answer either way Jimr. In my opinion if you want to make a rational decision get a second or third opinion from other qualified physicians. Over the years I have started doing that and it gives you a better feeling of confidence in your final decision. Good luck with that, it will all work out well in the end.
