softball 8 weeks post ACDF

i was wondering if i would be ok to play softball? i am 8 weeks post-op for C5-C6 ACDF surgery. i feel great!!! i have been back to work for 2 weeks now and have become alot more active. i didnt have any complications or anything like tghat. i am basically wondering if anyone else has played softball 2 months post-op and how they did with it. also, i am only 26 years old and have always healed in about half to 3/4 of the time that i was supposed to, and my surgeon said it looked great as far as healing goes 2 weeks ago when i went to see him and had x-rays taken. Thanks to all in advance for replying, hope others are doing as well as me!! :-)

  • Hi. It's good to hear that you are doing so well 8 wks. post-op. I am also doing well and I am also about 8 wks post-op. I had acdf with plating at c6-c7. As far as playing softball so soon after a major surgery only your surgeon could tell you that. My advice would be to err on the side of caution and consult with your surgeon. Like others on this forum have said you only get one chance to heal. I wish you continued success with your healing. Keep us updated.
  • Get your okay from your surgeon.
  • I had two level ACDF C5/6 and c6/7 and quit the game...not worth it.....the motion your neck does when swinging a bat could cause issues...but that is just me.
