Should we ?
I think this is a great objective for anyone that has experienced spinal problems, surgery or not.
Chemical medications have a definite purpose and without them, many of us would not be able to function on a day to day basis.
But, for a second, lets go back a long time ago, or view Eastern medicine. Chemical medications were not available, but instead there were natural ingredients (bark, plants, etc) that aided in taking care of pain and discomfort. How else did they get by without chemical medications?
Then look at many of us living in chronic pain for 20,25,30 or more years. Generally those are the same people who have multiple problems (spinal surgeries++. permanent nerve damage, advanced arthritis, degrading joints, etc) These are the people , me being one of them, who need the total package of pain control. I always talk about that in The Blend
My doctors believe at this point and stage of my life and chronic pain, I will always need some level of medications. But I still try my best to reduce and hopefully eliminate the narcotic/opiate set of medications.
So, lets open this thread for discussions on ways we hopefully can eliminate our medications. But please, I want this
to be a constructive thread, so everyone post in that vain. This one is for help, not to argue.
