I've found is that "bouncing back" from surgery has taken longer after each one. My stamina and energy is so low...
I had 3-lvl cervical surgery in Oct. 2008 and was back at things fairly quickly even golfing 18 holes regularly by April 2009. Then I had a 1-lvl lumbar surgery in Jan 2011 and it took me quite a bit longer to get things back, stamina, less pain, energy, sleep, etc. Then I just had another lumbar surgery Dec. 18, 2012 and I don't feel like I'm recovering well at all, mostly because I'm still so tired, don't have any energy and am still in pain every day, but manageable usually. No nerve pain usually, thank God, but deep lumbar and some cervical pain.
Have those of you who have had multiple surgeries feel that way or is it just because I'm only five months out?
I begin a new full-time job tomorrow and I'm scared that I'm not going to be able to do it. Luckily, I know the job well, it's a graphic design position for a small print shop so I can move or sit whenever I need to and that's a good thing. I also don't need to lift as the pressmen there know I'm not allowed and have already told me to let them know when there's something I need to have lifted.
Anyway, do multiple surgeries wear you down more after each one? Is it a mental thing along with a physical thing? Or is it just me?
Happy moms day. I miss mine.
