I'm turning 21 next month and have been suffering from back pain since 19 years old from a weight lifting accident. After getting tossed around by doctors, I finally was correctly diagnosed as having si joint dysfunction. I did everything short of surgery so far. steroid shots, radio frequency ablation, prolotherapy, physical therapy. After reading numerous posts on this forum, I'm kinda realizing that people don't get better and end up having to live their lives on pain medication. I have not read one post yet that said, "I am better now, this is how I got better." The si joint fusion posts that I have read, don't really have happy endings. I am so down and depressed these days, and honestly, I don't want to live the rest of my life with this kind of pain. If anybody knows of any stories of people getting better, please let me know. Or maybe I'm just feeling so alone in this long, painful journey...especially at this age.
