After a ruptured disc at L4-L5 five years ago that took an age to get over. I have now went and done something to the lumbar sacral level. I know from the MRI scans from 5 years ago, that a bulging disc at this level that was touching the S1 nerve root, but at that time was not causing any problems. Unfortunately for me, a week ago it finally went pop; Horrendous leg pain + sole of foot and little toe numb. (classic S1 dermatone). So it's back to long painful nights rolling around on the floor in agony:-(
Doctor is pretty useless, given me a whole lot of tablets that make no difference and tells me too stay as active as possible within the confines of the pain. I agree too much rest will lead to weakness which in itself will lead to more problems. so must keep going!
So a week in; I am now capable of getting to my feet for about 2 minutes, by which time the pain increases to an intensity that forces me to lie down again. These two minutes give me enough time to walk round the outside of the house but it takes me half an hour to recover, or at least get the pain down to a level where I am capable of thought.
So, finally to my question; If I go through this routine once an hour will I be doing myself more good than harm.
