This started for me the day my 4th baby was born. When my Epidural wore off I had horrible leg pain. My midwife told me it was varicose veins which I do have but never had this kind of pain with them. A few weeks later I went to my primary doctor who also said it could be varicose veins. Sent me to a vascular surgeon. He confirmed I had varicose veins but agreed with me the pain was not coming from them. By 6 weeks my pain went away on its own and I didn't think about it again until I had another flare up in January. That time I lasted 2 weeks. Now this time I have been in pain since May 1 st and the pain is in my back, left hip , lower leg and foot. My insurance said they will not pay for an MRI because thy do not think it is necessary. I am going to physical therapy and seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist. Until today I was using heat but my chiro said to try ice instead. I am taking Hydrocodone for pain although it does not help much. Ibuprofen seems better. I am taking flexeril before bed and I am on methopredisone (sp?) but will finish that tomorrow. My nerve is very inflamed. Even a slight touch to my back sends tingling down my leg. I am starting to get so depressed. I have 4 kids ages 6 and under and it is so hard to take care of them while my husband is working. I feel so much guilt that my pain is so bad I don't even want my kids to touch me most of the time.
