Second Discectomy in 3 years

Could my surgery have been avoided if I didn't have to stand in an extended position whilst showering? I had a left sided posterolateral disc protrusion l4/l5 compressing l5 nerve root which went from manageable in March 2013 to emergency code red surgery May 2013 :-(

  • this sounds all to familiar with this type of surgery, discectomy. i have read about so many reherniating, then needing another surgery, then down the road a fusion. i have avoided surgery so far for this main reason. hope yours turns out ok.
