  • I have interviewed many people for jobs in my old before pain, life. If they lied that was curtains for them. If they told the truth everything was usually OK - even sometimes with illegal substances depending if they were off it now. It does prohibit you from using some types of machinery and may prohibit you from working where it could be dangerous. Better to tell the truth than get found out later.

on the employer and the position that you are applying for. Do you have a valid current prescription for the xanax? If you do, then I would bring the prescription bottle with you to any interview /follow up that you get called for from the employer. I am a bit confused why they would not ask you prior to the test what medications you were taking, and have you bring the bottle with you to verify that it was yours and exclude that result from the results.
  • Due to Hipa laws you aren't required to tell the person administering the test what you are taking. But, you should have the option of making a note to "see medical record". Then, if there are any questions about what was found in your sample they can contact your doctor to see if the med will interfere with the job.
