Please HELP!!! If you can

Hi, I have suffered from chronic intractable pain for four years now. My first surgery was to fix three discs that had blown.
However, it turned out I also had a major crack or fracture in my vertebrae and had spondylolethesis (sp) and had an anterior / posterior triple level spinal fusion done two years ago. They also performed another surgery to open up a few nerves that were compressed. I had a spinal cord stimulator put in dec.2012. I just had it removed two weeks ago. My question. Where should I go from here??? I'm in so much pain that I can't work, eat, at least without throwing up, I can't sleep. I feel as though I'm being tortured. My pain specialist has me on Fent 75 and Norco for relief. It barely takes the edge off. He has only had me try the medicines I'm on now. He says there is a huge risk of addiction, which scares me to death. I've never been addicted to anything other than shopping. Anyway, he says I should get the drug pump. Now, this sounds hard core and dangerous to me. Any thoughts on where I go from here? Every day I go like this is another day lost. :(

Thanks in advance for anyone who offers advice.

I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are in and that your surgery hasn't helped you.
Have they managed to find out what levels your pain is coming from?

I had a grade 2 spondylolisthesis and had a decompression and fusion which gave me great relief from the awful pain I was in.
With that pain gone I noticed that I was also having pain in my neck, arms and hands. I had 2 levels of my neck fused. That has not got rid of my symptoms but I was warned before surgery that it was being done to stop the progression of damage to my cord and that I may be left with pain.
Now my pain levels are nothing as bad as yours and I am kept fairly comfortable by taking nerve pains meds.

I'm sorry that I can't advise you what to do other than perhaps it is time to get another opinion.
I really hope that you will find someone who will be able to help you.

You are not alone and there are many others here who are in intractable pain. They will hopefully share their experiences with you.
