I had Cervical Laminectomy and Fusion C2 to T1 one year ago. Then had left Hip Replacement November 2012. I have Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc disease and Osteoarthritis. I knew I had lumbar spine issues prior to neck sugery. Surgeon was concerned about spinal cord impingement so had neck first and groin pain was so bad I opted for hip replacement before lumbar issues were addressed. Lumbar pain was better after neck and hip surgery, but it is now back with a vengeance. My pain is in lower back but it is the front and outside thigh pain, buttocks pain and knee pain that are relentness. Most people i know that have lower back pain describe their symtoms as weak and numb. I describe mine as intensely painful with spasms (similar to charley horse) and muscle ache and tightness. Again, mostly in the front of my thigh. Saw hip surgeon and had numerous hip xrays, hip looks great. Had one pain injection three weeks ago, which helped a bit-at least I can stand now. Will have another injection in two weeks, after I finish antibiotic for UTI infection. Does anyone else have the type of pain I am describing? Is their anyone who has had both lumbar and neck surgery? I am going to physical therapy which has not helped. Any other suggestions? Thanks for reading this and for any advice you can offer.
