i had a triple disectomy with fusion about 6 years ago, with placement of a titanium plate and 8 screws. Now there is another disc just below the plate bulging, compressing the spinal cord, and causing moderate to severe pain. I also have numbness and tingling in my neck and down my right shoulder and arm multiple times throughout the day. I saw my previous neurosurgeon and he said that he did not want to do anything with it unless it ruptured and/or caused severe problems. He did not say what he would do if it did.
My question: How bad does the pain/numbness have to be to be considered severe, and has anyone ever had or ever heard of a quadruple discectomy with fusion?
Thank you for your time...
