Leg Pain after Microdiscectomy

Nine months out, still major pain in leg. I've been told I have a lot of scar tissue from a recent MRI; I am very frustrated. Medication are Neurontin and one or two Ultram a day. Exercise, swim, stretching and acupuncture not really helping, does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • I'm in the same boat as you...pain that runs down my legs even after the microdisectomy was supposed to help.

Personally, what works for me is not to stay in any particular position for two long...I'm always getting up after sitting for a good bit, or trying to find a place to sit after standing for too long.

    Hot tea helps me sometimes...

In 2006 I had the micro done and then the pain returned with a more severe, after another battery of test the disc had just reputed again and it was time for fusion. Two disc fusion 2010 and then in 2012 S1 disc ruptured beyond repair, so it got fused. I now have three disc fused and as of last week have the spinal stimulator implanted by St Jude. I hope yall's discectomy turn out better but from the sound of things you may be headed down my path. It makes since if you take away the disc but cant fix the leak eventually more is gonna leak until fusion or replacement is only answer. I wish yall the best of luck

Had surgery 4/11 and came home same day. Within 48 hours couldn't bear weight on my legs Or turn over on my own.  Was back in hospital for 5 days and now home with severe groin pain and still can't walk or move. Any ideas?
