SCS date finally

Well, I have a date for the trial implant, 8/20. Boston Scientific is the latest and greatest according to my PM Dr.
It is supposedly an easy 15-45 minute procedure ending with a day to recover before heading back to work. Then a few days before they snatch it back out and get on the waiting list to schedule with a surgeon (provided it works).
I am so hopeful and looking for relief.

  • Please read the topic post here for past year. Most of us were on the trial table for a few hours. It was a long day and you must have access to continued programing from B/S could take a few days, If you sit at a desk you can go back once your programed. I'd give it a couple. If your dr is "downplaying" this now, you best start reading this site. Ive been reading for a year Im waiting for my perm next 2-3 weeks
  • Thanks Terri, I do have as much of a desk job as I choose. I travel considerably as well but that's pretty much my call.
What about driving? I have been reading and it seems that the recuperation time after the per, ament device is installed, could take weeks before driving? Is this true? I'm thinking of taking a week off at most. Am I crazy?
It seems that every surgery I have had over the years starts out with "minimal recovery time" promised and ends up with "a year before you really heal".
IF it gives me relief then sobeit but damn!
