I need to know

I am scheduled to have facet injections in my neck this week and I am not looking forward to it! I have had these before in my back, but it was done outpatient under mild sed. This time it is in the office without anything. Anyone else out there been through this before?

  • I haven't had any spinal injections so can't help you I'm afraid but there are plenty of others who have got experience of facet injections.

I hope that they will read this post and come to share how they got on with you.
May I suggest that for future posts you give them a subject title that indicates what the post is about. That way you will get the attention of people who have experience or are interested in that subject.

Good luck with your injections and please come and let us know how you get on.

  • It's xray used to guide the needle to the right place. I've had cervical facet injections the numbed my neck but didn't use any sedation. I get them at 3 levels and the Dr places all three needles in and uses dye with the floroscope to ensure they are at the right place. Then he does all 3 injections one after the other. Without some sort of numbing I don't think I could hold my neck still long enough to get them all done.
When I get facet injections on lumbar spine they use mild sedation.
I'm having cervical facet on the 22nd followed by rhyzotomy, if it doesn't reduce my pain level headed for 3 level fusion as only other option.
    Good luck to you.
