Anyone ever experience back pain due to gas?

I pulled a muscle in my back recently and admit that my core is not the strongest so i'm currently working on fixing that asap. It totally put me out on the couch for a week, couldn't walk, was hard to deal with.

I notice that it's getting better, dull pain lingered for a few weeks afterward but it is slowly disappearing -- but at times what feels like a possible flare up of back pain seems like it's being triggered possibly by Gas? Not to go into Too much detail but Yes, I eat healthy and Yes, I tend to have a lot of gas. But for me in the past, I've had bouts of painful trapped gas and I wonder if it puts pressure on my back? I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced Gas related Back Pain.

Reason I suspect is because lately I have been having lower abdomen gas pain plus back pain, but if say it's released, the back pain slowly goes away. So it's been confusing me.

It seems weird to me and I googled a little but curious to get other's opinions.

innervate different parts of the body. Each level of the spine has a pair of nerve roots that exit the spinal cord, and are responsible for sending nerve impulses to various parts of the body, including your bowels and bladder, lungs, brain, arms, legs, etc.
So , yes it is possible that the nerves responsible for your intestines have had some effect and caused a delay in your ability to pass gas for a bit. And once you do pass it, it helps to relieve the gas and back pains.

Thanks for the reply, I just have to wonder if that's it. Not the main cause (obviously my core needs a lot of work) but maybe it doesn't help matters.

Makes me think maybe the gas causes pressure on the back muscles.

I've been doing physical therapy once a week for 3 weeks and trying to workout on my own but like say this morning,
I woke up feeling sooo stiff and like I slept in the same position for hours, it wrecked me and I had to hobble to work like a old man. Painful little spasms all day, totally too painful to sit down and work PLUS I feel bloated in my lower abdoemn inside, not helping..if I push on it, it's painful like painful gas.

  • Hello,
I have similar issue with my back.
Every time I have gas problem my back hurts.
I am also confused if this a symptom or a cause.
Once the gas releases the back pains eases away.
The back pain is not just on spine but the whole lower back feels stiff and weak.
I once had a very bad episode where my back sprained and I was bent on one side and was stuck in that position for a week.
Ice packs help a lot, try it and let me know. Also drinking lots of water. Strangely when I eat heat producing foods the conditin aggravates.
Let me know if you have a solution for this.
