I need someone who understands. I have been in pain for 21 years and am only 33. My parents took me to a doctor once and then seemed to ignore or disbelieve I truly had pain. I now take neurotin, which is the only reason I am able to function at a seemingly normal level. I was born with hip dysplasia, which has caused an over accumulation of cartilage. I have also been told that I have a pinched sciatic nerve. My pain is aching and burning in my right groin, stabbing, burning, aching and tender to the touch from my entire lower back down the back of my leg to the arch of my right foot. It's caused me depression, isolation, mood swings and bitterness. I thought a group that understood could be beneficial to the psychological factors my pain causes me.
