I lifted a heavy table which resulted me to have 3 herniated discs in my neck 5-6-7. I started having pain and tingling and numbness in my left arm. MRI showed the three herniation as well as bone spurs. I had an epidural injection which got rid of the tingling and numbness in my arm. PT and exercises have helped to reduce my pain, but I still have pain alternating from left to right and the pinching feeling in my neck which I think is from the bone spurs, specially when I put my head down. I really like my neurosurgeon, but he is reluctant to want to do anything else but PT, and at this point I am ready for the next step in order to get rid of pain. He says that there is no guarantee that surgery will fix the problem. He was talking about fusion but since I am 50, he thinks that will cause problems in my later years. I am very confused and I am ready for someone to say that operation will fix me so I can get on with my life. Any input is appreciated.
