Dazed & Confused

Hi guys! My name is Deborah, and frighteningly enough, as I can not contact my doctor directly, (he is so busy), or anyone else
in the doctors office as they have a confidentiality policy) or they will just say ( ask your doctor) I have luckily stumbled upon this sight, and am delighted to have some one to interact and talk with. Please bear with me, mine is sort of a long story, but I will try to cut to the chase as best I can. I have always suffered from back pain as a result of several car accidents and such and I though my chiropractor was enough to indulge me, until I went to the doctor, and found out it is much worse than I thought. You sometimes wonder, "Gee, if I hadn't have gone to the doctor, I would not have these pains !) So now that United Health Care has your test results and everything online for you to see, I was aghast to see "the list" Ill call it. First I have three tumors in my back that the doctor said were benign, and had been there for a very long time. Also I have, Lumbar Neuritis,
Lumbar Spondylosis , Neoplasm Of The Vertebra, Rheumatoid Arthritis, shall I go on. I have had the MRI's, Exrays, blood tests, etc, and the gist of it is, that except for about three or four trips to the emercency room for unbearable pain, I have been able to work, ( I am a cocktail waitress) in reasonably good shape, of course the pain medications are a must. I am on HYDROC/ACETAMIN (LORITAB), and CARISOPRODOL (SOMA),and they seem to help. Back in may when I went to the Spine Specialist, he said that these tumors have to come out, and not to wait too long. Ha okay, how do I pay my rent, who is going to take care of me, ( both my parents are deceased), I am so scared. the problem that brought me here now is that for the last few days, I have been feeling nauseous and its really scaring me. is it time to face the music? I know the answer, but I want to know why I am feeling nauseous? Can anybody tell me?Thanks for listening !

The nausea may be caused by the use of the lortab. It contains tylenol and for some people, chronic use of it can cause stomach upset/pain. How much are you taking and for how long? It may be time to return to the surgeon to see if things have progressed and to see what the status is. Have you consulted with at least one other surgeon to see if he/she agrees with the findings of the first one?
As far as the living concerns go, there are options, disability, temporary if needed ,and various agencies out there that can help you to keep a roof over your head while you recover. Postponing surgery too long can result in permanent damage, and that can be far more devastating than a temporary time out to recover from surgery that is medically necessary.
