Icing Back / biofreeze

I am writing to ask how many times a day do you ice your back? I am slow in the recover process and only had 3 pt visits. I had a pt visit friday and they did some stretches on my lower back. It really hurts now. I am 2 months post op Tlif L5-S1. I have had a very painful recovery. I have a lot of nerve pain in my left side back, hip, thigh, The problem is, my injury was on the right side. I haven't been able to figure out why. The doc's keep telling me that it will take a year for these things to go away. I do take lyrica.

I think I covered my bases. I go back in a few weeks and will be having my first xray done.

Also, what about using biofreeze?

I had a plif in 07 and still use Biofreeze. Works pretty good. My pm offered it to me several years ago. I prefer the lotion over the spray. It seems to last longer. As far as icing I think you can use it as much as you want 20 min on and 20 min off. I used ice in the beginning but like heat better. Whichever you use be careful not to place it directly in contact with your skin.
    Good luck
