Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. I know mucus accumulation in the upper respiratory system after general anesthesia is common, but I am 2 weeks post op from a microdiscectomy and still fine myself coughing to get stuff out of my chest. Nothing horrible, I don't need meds and it is not bothersome enough to see a doctor, but still there none the less. I woke up in recovery coughing my head off, which I did not experience with my other 2 surgeries. My first two surgeries took 30 minutes or so and this one took 1.5 hours. Maybe being under longer had something to do with it.
