I'm three weeks post op from having a lapendectomy on my l5 mostly. About six weeks ago I began experiencing major sciatic pain. After two weeks and finally an inability to even get out of bed I visited my physician. He sent me to physical therapy where they determined my hips were out Of alignment and pressing on my sciatic. After three days of therapy I was unable to feel my left leg, toes tingled, way worse symptoms than prior to therapy. Returned to my physician after five days and he ordered MRI. Got a call the next day with appt with spinal surgeon. A very large part of my L5 was against my nerve pressing. After X-rays at spinal surgeon they determined a large portion of my L5 was broken off and lodged itself against my nerve. They schedules me for a 5 hour surgery four days away indicating this was imminent or I may damage my nerve further. During surgery they remove one large piece of disk and a few other "floaters". Recovery has been amazing. No pain after 10'days, now just adjusting to the recovery rules. However, last two days my back had begun to make popping and cracking noises I can feel if I change position. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't called doc, no pain associated, but new feeling. Any thoughts. ?
