A bit about me... I am a 39 year old male living in Wales.
Well where do I start? I under went 2 cervical surgery's, first back in 2007 then in 2009 (both DISCECTOMY WITH FUSION, for an injury that I did not get diagnosed until 6 months past and by this time it had caused irreversible damage to the spinal cord. The damage is at c5.c6 c 7 level. I have constant pain (worse in the winter) and have the burning legs sensation also. I have had many MRIs of the spine and it shows the Progressive Mylomalacia at the site. I thought that Mylomalacia was just the damage that had occurred, but do not know why the `progressive` is in the report?
Also for some reason when I sit down my pain in the legs( burning) gets much worse. Is this linked to my neck?
And I have been having a little more right arm pain than I am used to along with muscle contractions (involuntary)
And the other day I had a strange contraction of a neck muscle of which I have never had before.
My last MRI (a few months ago)said I had no compression of the cord, but had damage to the cord.
I am just worried they may missed something as 2 years after my first op I had symptoms returning and I went to see a specialist and she said I was ok but I clearly wasn't as 1 month later I was rushed in to have emergency op at a level below the last.
Has anyone experienced or are experiencing symptoms similar to mine??
