Hi buddies

My surgeons PA just called me with my MRI results

I first asked her if my SURGEON had reviewed the resukts and she said NO!

I told her that I want him to review the film and report since he is my SURGEON!!!!

Report said severe DDD
Bulge at L 3-4 ( that was one of my laminectomy sites 17 weeks ago)
And a spinal cyst that has to be aspirated and examined for infection at the L 3-4 site
( the cyst could be the cause if my pain)
At the same time as the needle aspiration of the cyst I will have an ESI ( injection) pain mgmt.

I want to hear what mu surgeon says !!!!!

NYC may have great hospitals and the #1 best orthopedic hospital in the country, but they depend on PA too much

  • That is a trend to have more PAs, doing a lot of the more routine tasks of the MDs. PAs usually have had previous experience in the hospital or in Drs offices. Like Drs, some are better than others. a lot are more approachable than Drs and will spend more time answering your questions. Try to befriend them, it can come on handy. Had great experiences with the ones I have have known.
