Back again from the wilderness

Hi everybody,
I was a member on here a few years ago.
I knackered my back 4 or 5 years ago while working for the Prison Service here in the UK.
I signed up to this site and to be honest the people on here helped to keep me sane.
Since then I have moved house three times and tried to get on with life.
I've carried on with life trying to continue as best I can but deep down I know that things aren't going to get any better.
My meds are as low as I can manage but I've put on over a 120 lbs in weight after my fusion surgery of L4-5 and I'm in more pain now than I was before the operations.
I was crying myself to sleep when I remembered some of the people I spoke to on here.
I'm now too damn tired to carry on writing so I'll call it a night.
Its 2:12am here in the UK.
Thanks for listening.
Scott from the UK

  • Really sorry about your pain and what you are going through. I understand about the weight gain I had 3 surgery's and have gained 4stone in all, I would lose 10 pounds then gain 12 . Its just a constant battle, are you under a pain team. I had so many nights were I cried myself to sleep but they have really helped me. I am not pain free but they have helped me mange my pain and my low mood. Your not alone take care
  • Hi Tina
I'm in the UK and following my fusion surgery I was advised by the Consultant to get in touch with the Pain Management team in my local hospital. I enrolled in a ten week course which I found quite beneficial.
I've got used to not getting a good night's sleep but every now and then it gets me down.

  • I remember you Scott, I have to say after having been in a major flare up for the last 8 weeks I have also returned to the site. I hope you do not feel so alone now, it's good to see some ( old ) names again. I have been lurking in the background hoping to find old and new friends. It really helps when it gets too much. I'm in the UK too.
