Bump next to abdominal incision

I've had a bump next to my abdominal incision since surgery almost 6 weeks ago. I forgot to ask the surgeon, but figure it is from where they tied off the sutures. I noticed last night the bump had turned black and blue and seems to have spread a bit today. I've been having some abdominal pain the past week or so, but my xray was negative. Has anyone had this happen before?

  • I had a small bump too after mine but it didn't turn colors. I would have freaked if it did and had it checked. I guess you'd have a fever if it was infected. Good luck
ALIF April 2011 but it turns out I broke before it barely fused.

  • I have an appointment to see my surgeon's nurse practitioner on Monday. I spoke to his PA today and he said I really shouldn't have a bump next to the incision and the bruising is a concern.
