  • The only person who can advise you about increasing your dosage of medication is
your prescribing doctor. Have you discussed this with him/her?
How long have you been on your current dose? How much are you prescribed for each dose? How much are you actually taking?
  • I was started on oxycontin ..the 12 hour one and the instant version {oxynorm} this was 10 years ago .I was on 10mg of the oxycontin twice a day and 5mg of the instant version 3 times a day ..now I am on 80mg of oxycontin 3 times a day and 20mg of oxynorm 6 times a day .....and I am still in pain BUT ,,,,there is a world of difference between 9.5 pain and 8.5 ..I leave 10 for post op pain !! .if I can get down to an 8.5 of even an 8 I can just about get through the day ..I know its not much BUT the pain killers make the day bearable ..my doctor and I have an understanding .there is a limit that I know I can go to should I need .but I would always advice you have a chat to your doctor about pain killers .
