Hi, every time I mention to my doctor's office or physical therapist that I don't want my fusion to faiI, I feel like its brushed off as unlikely. I had an L5 S1 fusion on 10/17 after microD 8-21 reherniated. I'm not talking about it all the time but any time I mention it, I feel like its disregarded. My PT guy said the only thing that's going to cause it to fail would be a severe fall or car accident. My doctor's office said "you're young, its single level, just live your life." From the experiences of others it sure doesn't seem like a bizzare concern but maybe I am worried too much? I'm doing my PT excercises and walking a lot but I don't want to bend lift or twist much so I move my feet rather than my back and squat to pick things up. I'm not being inactive because of the fusion just cautious because 2 surgeries in 4 months has given me reason to be cautious. Is anyone else feeling like this? What are you being told? What does cause a fusion to fail or hardware to break? Thanks.
