I am trying to get some feedback on a simple/complex question; I had a lumbar back fusion at L3-L4 in December 2011. I started rehab in about April/May of 2012.
In July 2012, I fell in my garage directly onto my tailbone. Straight down, back was upright when I hit the concrete.
I could not continue to rehab for long as the pain got much, much worse after this fall, so my surgeon began a huge series of epidural blocks each month thereafter; August, September, October, November (Rhizatomy), December, another lumbar fusion in February 2014 (L2-L3), which I cannot remember even why I had it, trigger point injections in May, another set of injections in September and another set last week. During a bone scan, it was discovered that I had some issue with T10/T11, so I had those injections as well.
Nothing has helped and my pain is worse; can barely get out of a car, cannot get up from bed other than rolling out of bed, pain under the surgery site, new pain in my groin and hip, pain going down my surgical area to the right of my buttock with achy pain going down my right leg, over my knee to my foot and leg weakness.
I have no idea as to what I did after I fell, but I know clearly that all of this was due to my fall. I was actually doing a bit better as I was having rehab for several months prior to my fall.
So, I have had 20 or so injections, a new fusion with a slew of new and existing pain.
What exactly did I do to my spine after I fell? I cannot seem to get an answer to my questions from my surgeon. Oh, he referred me to a Rheumatologist who put me on 600 mg. of Lyrica daily with no affect.
Need help. I am seeing my surgeon again next week. Thanks
