Anyone Else Had This Side Effect?

Hi everyone! I'm here trying to find answers for my mom. She has several injuries, 3 herniated cervical discs, 4 herniated lumbar discs, she had two shoulder surgeries where they fixed a torn rotator cuff, disconnected and reconnected the ligaments, moved the bicep muscle...and now her hip and leg are giving her trouble which I'm sure is from the problem with her back.
After fighting for over a year with worker's comp, she was finally approved for a Spinal Cord Stimulator. Last Tuesday she had the trial module inserted into her lower back with two leads. It's for relief in her leg more than anything. She did have relief which was great but she had a side effect. After she had the stimulator implanted, she began feeling extremely jittery and anxious to the point that she cried. Turning down the device did seem to help somewhat but then she wouldn't receive the pain relief. I know what she's feeling because I have severe anxiety problems but she never has. She's been suffering for almost 9 years now and we were hoping this would be a bit of a saving grace. I would take all of this myself if I could but I should at least be able to fix some things!
Has anyone else had this anxiety or jitteriness like way too much caffeine? If anyone has, did it get better with time or did you have to go on medication? I'm so desperate to fix this!!!!!

  • if Im close to having a panic attack OR If they use VERSAID (thats how it sounds dont know spelling) a medication use for sedation. They tried to give it to me for my scs trial. Also, that buzzing stim and get to you if your not use to it. Now I panic if I dont feel it.
  • Strange. I have noticed that since my implant I have been an emotional wreck. Depressed even though I feel better that I have in years physically. I'm wondering if the stimulation can cause mood swings, depression, and anxiety. Not something the doc mentioned or the rep. I need to ask now that I see somebody else is having the same issue. I know for sever depression they still use electrical brain stimulation and maybe there is some negative sides to this mentally. I honestly thought I would be much happier than ever after the surgery just because my pain is more under control.
