Hey everyone! I've been reading the forms and using the resources here for awhile. I had a microd. L4-L5 in March and this website has really helped. I'm youngish to have had surgery, 29, so I don't find a lot of my peers understand why I can't move really well when it rains. Since surgery I have had pretty constant but lessened leg pain that I have learned to live with.

The main reason I am posting is because I am getting married in April, yay, and I am looking for any shoe suggestions that will allow me to walk/sit/dance with as much grace as possible. I'm tall and don't really need a heel but I don't think can do flats all day. So any suggestions are more than welcomed.

Also, thank you guys for all the guidance while I was recovering etc.

  • When I got married I wore different shoes all day. Sneakers for walking/waiting, flats for ceremony, flip flops for lots of the pictures... good news is wedding dresses are (usually) long so you can wear anything. I do suggest changing during the day go.
33yo mom of two. My surgical history...preadolescence scoliosis, kyphosis, and a hot mess.... 5 spine surgeries and lots of items added I wasn't born with (titanium, peek, surgical steel). Guess cremation is out. TSA loves me.
  • Allmetal's suggestion changing shoes is a great idea. You can find wedding flip flops, maybe a small wedge heel would be comfortable, they are the only heels I can wear without my back and knees screaming. Or look for sneakers that are fancy since there are a lot of custom made shoes now days.
Congrats on the wedding! This is your special day and that means you can do whatever works for you. And your friends and family will understand if you need to tailor thing to fit your needs
