afordable health care

Right now I get indigent care at hospital where my pain mgmt doc is. I have to renew it every 3 months. This time she was asking is I was going to get the health care insurance...its the law...not sure yet how hospital going handle it etc. She was very nice.

They sent me a letter to call their "partner" about getting insured. I called an because I can't work they cannot help me!!!!

  • I'm sorry, but I don't know how that would work. If I were you , I would contact the hospitals financial department and talk to them about what the options are and how that would apply to you.

That gave me the number! I am still on indigent care so no problem seeing the doc. But the finance lady thought I could get it for about $20 a month.

The number on the letter was people signing people up for bluecross blue shield. He mostly wanted to know what my annual income might be next year. I explained I cannot work. He said he could not help me an I should call an get Medicaid. I told him I was denied Medicaid.

So...unless something has changed. I am going by health dept Monday after I get the bone test done.

I was just surprised about him sayingi couldn't get it! . Hospital asked me to call so I did..crazy huh!
