Hi i hope somebody can tell me whats wrong with me. I have had pain lower back right side for 3 months. Initially it wasnt too bad, i went to family doctor, she thought scoliosis and sent me for scoliosis xray and abdominal scan and urine tests but all came back negative. Then she said i probably have muscle strain. Its been a month now and my pain is getting worse, i constantly have pain now, sometimes it wakes me up from sleep. I also notice on right side of my back, almost on side, if i press with finger on a spot and let go i get really bad pain, but i have to press deep for that, so i think its not muscle related it might be my bone that is causing pain but why did it not show on xray or abdominal scan, i have no other symptons like kidney stone or infection, can anybody suggest the next step because my family doctor is no help, i feel like my rest of life is going to be like this i took all types of pills, applied pain creams nothing is helping, anyone knows what it could be thanks, the pain is always on right side away from spine almost on the side. If it would help im 25 years male

I would recommend reading the link below and it might give you some ideas about where to start to find out what might be causing your pain.
Chroinc Pain - Step by Step
  • Have a look at chronic pain steps in Sandi's post. Firstly you need to keep a pain diary - what makes it better - what makes it worse? Just a book with a line down the middle what I am doing/ and pain level between 1 - 10 every half an hour for a week. You need to see what makes it better or worse. It could be anything. Also have a look at a dermatone chart on this site. If it is your spine you will see where the different levels radiate.

Hopefully for you it is muscle pain and will resolve in time if you are not aggravating it. Do your own research as well.
