facet joint dysfunction L4/L5

Diagnosed with facet joint dysfunction at L4/L5. Had RF ablastion done 6 weeks ago. Still having nerve pain down outside of both legs. Lower right hip still sore. How long does it typically take to heal from this procedure? I've been told 4 weeks by doctor, so they are calling procedure a 'failure".

  • before doing the RFA? It is normally done with a series of test injections to see if the medication is going to provide relief before going ahead with the actual RFA.
If the test injections do not provide temporary relief, then they usually don't go ahead with the RFA.
I'm sorry it failed for you, but it may be the nerve fibers were somehow missed or the wrong level of the spine was done?
