8 weeks post op 4th surgery terrible pain

Hi everyone,

To give you a little background, I had a Laminectomy done in May 2009, another one done in July 2009, a PLIF L4-L5 fusion in May 2010, and November 25, 2013 had a hardware removal and another laminectomy. I have been doing really great and back to walking 2-3 miles 4 times per week. Last night I got up from the chair and found myself on the ground. The pain was so bad that it took me to my knees! The pain area is in the low back, left waist, left hip area. I'm not sure what to do, as the pain meds are not helping. My NS is in surgery today and Monday, so they won't even be able to call me until Tuesday. My family doctor doesn't work now until Monday, and I am hurting bad. Any help that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

  • I assume that you have contacted your surgeon by now. When a patient is post op and there is a problem, then the office can contact the surgeon or have you seen /talked to by his assistant or PA if necessary.
The surgeon can call you after he is done with surgery or even between surgeries.
