I'm having L5S1 fusion (anterior and posterior) in about a month.
I'm 37, in pretty decent shape, no other health issues. I work a boring ol' office job, where my employer is supplying me with a desk that can transition from sitting to standing. yay!
So I'm wondering, specifically, how soon I could realistically go back to work. Say....two weeks out, what will I be capable of doing (not just at work, but at home as well)? I haven't been able to find any detailed information other than "you'll be in pain for a few months". How long would I be able to walk after a week or two or three? Am I going to be totally helpless for a while? Or will I be able to take care of my basic needs on my own?
