Hi all im new here. TlifHoping to get some answer or share experiences. Long syory short...Tlif done on Oct 17 2013 first week was horrible I started to recover from surgery and at about 4 weeks things got worse. I started to feel like air bubbles or grinding, creeking and popping in my spine. I could also hear. With every move I make. NS sent me for x ray to check for loose screws. He won't be back in til Tuesday. I went to the family doc that I knew would take x ray & read them. He said I infact have screws backing out. Can someone please help me in knowing what's going to happen next. They have to do the revision if screws are loose correct? Any answers or stories will help me. I've now developed anxiety due to the stress & probs!

Answer here or feel free to email me.

  • Hey!! I can only imagine the stress your feeling! However, I wait until your surgeon looks at it too before you get really scared. Basically I'm not sure exactly what they do for loose screws. I have a loose screw, but I'm also not fused yet. Are u showing signs of fusion? I know they can pull out because of non union.
Don't get to stressed out. Even if it's a revision surgery which I'm sure you don't want to do anyways, it's nothing compared to the actual surgery like my doctor told me.

  • LastFeb I had a fusion withL4-S1.less than. 1 year later I just had my 2nd surgery. My first surgery failed. They removed the rods and screws performed a laminectomy L4-S1. I was worried about the hardware being removed and replaced but it seems to be going ok so far. Try not to stress until you see the X-rays. If you trust your surgeon, he will make it right! Please let us know how you make out!
