I am 15 and I have moderate scoliosis of the upper lumbar spine, the curve is around 28-29° but my specialist said that wasnt a precise mesurment (maybe less). They told me I am done growing, so the curve shouldn't progress (I also have about an 10-11° curve further up, but it doesn't bother me). The curve goes towards the right and makes my hip stick out ALOT. and it bothers me with wearing clothes. I get back pain for bending down for too long, standing for an extended amount of time or bending my back too far. It's a daily pain, but I have become pretty accustomed to it, so I dont notice it thay much except for at the end of the day, when im in bed and I really focus on it, then it really hurts, sometimes to the vergebof crying. If I bend back abit and crack my back I get alot of pressure relief. My next appointment isn't until March, I was diagnosed in October time and its been getting worse (I feel like my hip my stick out more, but that might just be paranoia). Even if the curve hasnt progressed can I ask for some kind of brace for support? I have a body pillow that I wrap around myself and hold tight whenbi lie down and it feels nice to hold it in place. And I know braces will not fix my spine but is there something that would make my hip stick out less? Maybe a brace to redyuce it a bit? I've read stories about people eith around 50° curves that don't even complain, so I feel like a brat. But I read that it could be rhe musles overcompensating to try and allign the spine again? Wpuld physiotherapy help? My parents think its a load of junk. But would the doctor agree if I suggested?
thanks so much!
