Hi I've just joined
I've had a long history of what I was told was Brachial Neuritis dating back to 1984. In Nov 2013 I had my worst occurrence yet which also effected my breathing. I was on morphine for 6 weeks due to the neck and shoulder pain. I had xrays to check my chest which indicated a raised diaphragm?
2 weeks ago I was admitted to hospital with acute abdominal pains. I had ultrasound scans which picked up that my diaphragm was paralysed hence the struggle to breath. Nothing was picked up regarding the pains in my abdomen which started to subside after 5 days.
I had a few MRI scans done on my brain, brachial plexus and cervical spine. This I did through my private medical insurance.
The scans picked up degeneration of my spin and root compression of c4 - c7. My orthopedic Surgeon discussed spinal fusion but also wanted me to see a neurologists which I am doing at the end of this week.
Has anyone here heard of compression of the pherenic nerve from C3 -C5?
Look forward to reading all about the joys of having ACDF
