Hi ya all!
I had the implant surgery back in May 2013 and after suffering for many months of it just not relieving pain like the trial did I demanded my surgeon to compare Xrays from Trial to Implant and found that the implant electrode pad was not placed properly and was on a 45% angle to the left, thus would never work properly. In the midst I lost my surgeon to another medical facility and was given another thru UCD. After the 1st visit it was agreed that I had to go under the knife again to do a retro-fit (taking it out and replacing it) to a lower T2 location. The surgery was just recently done 1-31-14 and was a horrid experience due to lack of bedside manner from the new surgeon. I was awakened during the procedure a number of times to ask me "do you feel that?" then put back under anesthesia for approx. 6 hours. The electrode pad was removed and a laminotomy not laminectomy was performed at T1-L1 the electrode pad/electrodes were re inserted and then attached to the battery pack.
It has been a week and a half and my spasms are horrible....feels like my ribs are being torn apart and the pain is just awful. My surgeon will not see me for 4 more days and wants to turn on the unit that day. I am not looking forward to this what so ever due to the spasms and nerve endings that have not yet healed.
Has anyone else out there had this experience of a revision.
